Knit 1, Frog 1 - A lesson in the importance of gauge

Well, I started to venture into knitting socks. I've never really gotten the hang of DPNs but decided to give it a go. Good news is that I figured out the dpns - bad news is that I'm off gauge with the needles that I bought, so I had to frog my first sock. I started the socks knowing that I wasn't knitting to gauge. I know, I know. I should have waited to get other needles, but I guess I learned my lesson the hard way. Now I have to wait to buy the other needles to continue my venture in socks. So, now it is back to the butterfly blanket. I'm almost up to the next row of butterflies. Maybe I should just focus on that for the month and get caught up. Oh - but it's so fun to have so many projects going. :)
